There is around 10.4 lakh ASHA workers across the country. The largest workforces of ASHA workers are in states with high populations – Uttar Pradesh (1.63 lakh), Bihar (89,437), and Madhya Pradesh (77,531). Goa is the only state with no such workers.

What is the difference between a speech therapist and a speech pathologist?
Speech therapists and speech-language pathologists are the same—there are no educational or qualification differences between a speech-language pathologist vs. a speech therapist. The terms are interchangeable.

Is a degree in speech pathology worth it?
Yes, speech pathology is worth it for many students. The Bureau of Labor Statistics anticipates 25% job growth for speech-language pathologists over the next ten years, which is much faster than average job growth. This type of work also has nationwide demand.
Medical speech-language pathologists typically work in hospitals, outpatient clinics, and rehabilitation facilities. They typically work 40 hours per week during normal business hours. The work they do may differ slightly depending on where they work.
Attire. Business casual attire is recommended during the Convention. Session rooms are often cool, and attendees are advised to dress in layers. Comfortable walking shoes are a must.
The ACE is a formal recognition of professionals who have demonstrated their commitment to lifelong learning by earning 7.0 ASHA continuing education units (CEUs) (equivalent to 70 contact hours) within a 36-month period. This is not based on calendar years or the Certification Maintenance Interval.
